Ferns

The presence of tree ferns in a forest or garden evokes an atmosphere of remote places and times. Not in vain, tree ferns are relics of the past: they emerged 300 million years ago and the most modern ones shared a forest with cycads and conifers in the Jurassic. On his trip around the world, the father of the Theory of Evolution, Charles Darwin, declared himself impressed by the majesty of tree ferns and the brilliant green of their magnificent and elegant fronds.
