Lavender tapestries

Once a year, a small part of La Alcarria (Guadalajara) turns shades of mauve and purple for just one month. These are the 30 days of blooming for the lavender fields of Brihuega, known as "the Spanish Provence", a town that boasts over a thousand hectares of blooming lavender and extraordinary beauty.

In this purple paradise of lavender and lavandin (a hybrid of lavender and lavender), its fragrance fills the fields and the unique color of the flowers offers an unforgettable sight. A sea of violet stretches out beneath the sun. The hills of Brihuega resemble waves of a purple ocean, and each row of lavender draws symmetrical lines toward the horizon.

The golden light of sunset completely transforms the landscape. The slanting rays ignite the mauve and bluish tones. It is the magical hour when photography becomes poetry, shadows lengthen among the perfectly aligned shrubs, and the buzzing of bees composes a subtle soundtrack.
